Coffee shop design and layout

Here are a few design and layout ideas which should be considered for a modern coffee shop

Ascetics are arguably the most important aspect of a modern coffee shop. One wants your customer to have a memorable experience - one which they seek to repeat again and again. Once you have ‘wowed’ them with your décor and design, there is your equipment. The modern coffee machine is testament to the beauty of Italian design (most are produced in Italy) so why lock it away behind walls…get it out there and make it all part of the experience…the hiss…the whistle and the aroma are all part of giving your customer an exceptional experience.

Coffee is a business

As with any business there does need to be a balance between cost and customer delivery. Space is at a premium wherever you might be and this needs to be effectively utilised. Gone are the days of empty tables, empty walls and under-utilised areas. The nature of a coffee shop however is such that there needs to be different spaces to accommodate different needs. The bar stool for a quick coffee on the go, the conversation pit for the four guests who are there for a chat, a few standard tables for eating and what about a work station where the home-office customers can charge their laptops and enjoy your free wifi over a cup of good coffee - they only need a workstation and a comfortable chair. Where possible, choose a few tables that can be joined together for larger groups and ensure that your space caters for all customer needs.
