Q: Do the businesses on this site all sell really good coffee?

A: We do our best to ensure that only those business who care about their coffee end up on our site. They have either been recommended to us by a customer or have applied successfully to be a member. We do require members to answer certain questions and they are then assessed by our panel before being published. This said, we do our best but cannot give any guarantees.

Q: Do the businesses on this site all sell really good food?

A: Again, we do our best to ensure that only those business who care about their products and service end up on our site. They have either been recommended to us by a customer or have applied successfully to be a member, we do our best but cannot give any guarantees.

Q: If I recommend a shop or accommodation establishment will my details be published.

A: No, all member and visitor information and submissions are treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Q: Where can we read the reviews, good or bad?

A: We do not publish reviews. These are however kept on file and in the event of one of our members receiving two or more bad reviews we will ask them to respond in the hope of rectifying poor performance. If nothing is done to remedy a problem, the member will have their advertisement withdrawn.

Q: Can I advertise any product or service in this site?

A: We will consider any form of appropriate commercial advertisement and we will consider advertising swaps with other sites which we deem to be suitable. Some adverts will not be acceptable, including but not limited to those of a violent or sexual nature and those advertising that stuff called “instant” UNLESS it is still 100% pure coffee with no chemical additives.

Q: I see you have B&B’s and conference centres also advertised?

A: Coffee and all those who serve good coffee is what we’re about. Even a coffee barrow seller at a craft market may advertise as long as he serves good coffee.

Q: So what is good coffee in your opinion?

A: No there’s a question! I could write a thesis on this but as a general rule, good coffee is made from freshly roasted beans or from VACUUM packed and freshly opened 100% pure ground coffee. The fresher the grind the better. This then still has to be prepared or brewed well by skilled staff who care about their coffee.

Q: Can shops and other businesses advertise here?

A: Shops certainly. We will however be selective and will verify that you actually sell good coffee or a product and service suitable to our visitors.

Q: Who makes all the money from this site?

A: What money? With membership fees of R 39 per month, we might one day in the future, make a profit. In the meanwhile we host the site; post good content and maintain this site as a labour of love. We will deal with any profits if and when our efforts come to fruit. It takes days; weeks and months to build and populate a site like this with content and images. It was never really expected that this would be a profitable venture but yes, we do hope one day to at least recover our costs.
